If an individual is rejected by his troop and community and family he will receive an unconditional subsistence income. The soup kitchen is not enough a person without money will do anything to obtain money. my robbery
My attempt to walk from Mozambique to Namibia from October 2024 to April 2025 ended after three weeks. Outside several poor villages the beach was empty except myself and two fishermen. Fresh cattle tracks were in the sand from the day before. One of the fishermen in the morning told his friends in the village about me or they saw me from a hill overlooking the beach. One of them went home for a knife and walked through the village through to forest and on to the beach to find me and eventually found me around midday prepared for a deadly battle over pocket change
A terrified animal doing anything to sustain his life. He was frightened desperate for money. Took my charging cable and charger. Tried to rip my phone of my neck and left a permanent scar around my neck. He never injured me with his knife despite constant threats in what he perceived and approached as a battle despite my complete cooperation and understanding. Six months in Chile this never happened . My floating bag for river crossings and survival gear was not stolen but all electronics including a phone charger was taken. After a pat down he checked all my pockets but did not discover a tan passport puch around my neck . He would certainly take my passport also if he found it I was expendable at this point my problems meant nothing to his desperate situation . More involved schemes like kidnapping can not be far away in such a desperate environment .
I was poorly prepared for this and by a miracle I still had a concealed tan coloured puch intact around my bleeding neck and against my chest. It contained my pass port and spare cash for a ride and bank card. The locals were willing to help me but demanded cash and spent a great effort in increasing the price several times and then asked for double the amount again when we arrived. I left south Africa instantly the same day for Australia to think about this disaster.

It is possible that this problem can be overcome if I can walk away with only my clothes and find a new phone and prepaid bank card etc. Maybe it is easier to find a work around than dealing directly with the root of the problem
If I attempt this expedition again I have to prepare to be robbed several times. I need a cheap empty phone that I can easily give away. Pre paid bank card. Leaflet identity NOT a pass port absolutely not anything of value or difficult to replace . And training for an outsider to transfer money to me after a robbery to get everything back again and continue the expedition despite being cleaned of everything on me.

The goolag Google has no cooperation with local law enforcement and could easily share the phone location of stolen phones with the police that could be on location five minutes after it is marked as stolen and knock on the door. Phones can be “secured” but not marked as stolen with appropriate actions. I have asked for a unified device history with no possibility to reset or clone stolen phones even with the pin code. My robber asked for the pin code…. good job engineering sigh…. the engineers are as brain dead as the robber. When a pone is reset it is still the same device and can still be tracked by all previous owners. This has to be the highest priority engineering problem to solve to make it absolutely impossible and worthless to steal a phone and certainly be a honey pot for police. Thiefs has to learn that a stolen phone will always be tracked and unusable by any illegitimate trader. Legitimate traders can easily arrange a digital handover in device tracking . Any excuse that enables robberies are absolutely unacceptable beyond. This is also a simple yet unsolved problem that I have to force to a solution. The imbecile goolag has taught robbers all around the planet how to steal phones by asking for the pin code. They sit there in their nerd dorm completely unaware of priorities. There is an option to secure the phone and sign out. Both of which are probably pointless since the phone is already reset and considered a brand new device. Congratulations you got a new phone. MY phone… and confusing since why should I sign out and disconnect from it. I should oversee the legitimate digital transfer of ownership after I mark it as sold. Or be able to track legal action when I mark it as stolen. Which should let me track the phone confirm that all my user data is deleted that police have been given device access for tracking and messages to me and possibly past owners if any but possibly not any new illegitimate accounts from someone that purchase stolen pones. No one has ever thought about this before apparently . I can’t even understand why it is designed the way it is. There should be an option for sold or stolen not secure it makes no sense. I select sold or stolen and the brain dead engineers design a system that responds to that. If sold we can manage handover online through our accounts. It might be possible to use it but knowing that it is currently being tracked by police.
